Skydive Challenge

Are you brave enough? Enjoy the thrill of free fall from 13,000 feet at a speed of 200 km per hour!
On the day of your skydive

Your skydive will take place at the Irish Parachute Club; Clonbullogue Airfield, Clonad, Clonbullogue, Co. Offaly, R45 RT99. Google Maps location

Please arrive at 9:30am as you will need to complete training and fill in some forms before you board the plane.

How it works

  • On arrival, you will be asked to sign in and fill out a few forms.
  • Next you will be asked to watch a health and safety video.
  • The parachute club will assign participants into groups that will go in the plane together, and what order these groups will go up. Only participants that are on-site and have completed the sign-in process can be allocated to a group.
  • When it is your group’s turn, an announcement will be made asking you to enter the hangar. In the hangar, you will meet your tandem instructor and receive your jumpsuit, harness and goggles.
  • Your tandem instructor will take you through all stages of the jump and do some simple training with you (your instructor does all the work during the skydive, don’t worry!).
  • When it is time to get on the plane, you will go with your instructor, who will tell you where to sit. You will be connected to your instructor when you are in the plane.
  • The plane will climb to between 10,000 and 13,000 feet, and then the pilot will give the go-ahead to jump. Your instructor will take you to the plane door when it is your turn. Your instructor will operate the parachute and do all the work, leaving you to enjoy the experience!

 What to wear

  • Casual, comfortable clothing – you will be wearing a jumpsuit over all your clothes. Don’t forget your Children’s Health Foundation T-shirt!
  • Footwear: laced runner/ trainers are perfect.
  • You can keep your glasses and contact lenses on during the skydive if you wish as you will be wearing goggles over them.
  • Don’t forget to bring your sun cream, you will be outdoors for most of the day!

Photos and video

Irish Parachute Club offer an optional photo and video service which records your jump. You can book and pay for this when you check in.

  • Photos of your skydive cost €85
  • A video of your skydive is €85
  • IPC offer a package deal for both for €110.

For insurance and health and safety reasons, you cannot bring your own go-pro or recording equipment with you during the skydive.

Points to note

  • The Irish Parachute Club have a weather station at the drop zone and on the day operate a safety-first policy. This means there will be no jumping in conditions deemed unsuitable by their Chief Club Instructor.
  • If the weather forecast indicates unsuitable skydiving conditions in the days leading up to the skydive, the parachute club will postpone the dives and we will be in contact with you to reschedule.
  • Your arrival time is not the time of your jump. Your jump time is dependent on weather conditions on the day. Please be advised, we recommend that you leave your day free.
  • We recommend that you bring some water and snacks as you may be onsite for a few hours.
